Pain syndromes associated with suspected AMI or myocardial ischaemia
Cardiogenic pulmonary oedema
Autonomic Dysreflexia with systolic BP equal to or greater than 160mmHg

Heart rate less than 50bpm OR heart rate greater than 150bpm

Suspected acute inferior MI

Risk of hypotension/syncope
Intoxication - effects enhanced by alcohol

Side effects of GTN
Dizziness/hypotension/syncope
Facial flushing
Tachycardia
Vascular headache
Dosage of GTN - Adults only
MI/myocardial ischaemia
400mcg spray every 5 minutes while symptoms continue providing systolic BP greater than 100mmHg
Autonomic Dysreflexia with systolic BP equal or greater than 16mmHg
400mcg spray every 5 minutes until BP normalises
Cardiogenic pulmonary oedema
400mcg spray every 5 minutes while symptoms continue providing systolic BP greater than 100mmHg
