  2. Diuretics: excrete NA & fluid
    • BELD - loop diuretics - K depleting
    • Bumex, Edecrin, Lasix, Demadex
    • Thiazide Diuretics - K depleting
    • Hydrochlorothiazide, Zaroxolyn, Chlorothiazide
    • SE: Hypokalemia, Hyperglycemia, Photosensitivity
    • NI: Monitor K + Glucose, Teach increase K diet
    • K Sparing diuretic - Aldactone, Dyrenium (Blue Urine)
    • SE: Hyperkalemia
    • NI: Monitor electro., Decrease K in diet
  3. Angiotensin Converting Enzyme Inhibitors
    • -prils
    • SE: Cough, Anaphylaxis, Palpitations, Taste, Orthostatic HTN, Potassium inc., Renal Imp., Impotense, Leukocytosis, Steven Johnson Synd.
    • NI: monitor B/P, electrolytes, WBC, contra. in pregn.
