What did the clergy want in the Cahier of 1789?
- The right to deal with their own issues/criminals (don't vote on issues that only involve one estate)
- No tax without the consent of the entire Estate General
- Replace a variety of judicial codes with one judicial code
What did the 3rd estate want from the Cahier of 1789?
- No intermediate commission of the Estates General - No lessening the power of the 3rd Estate
- Accused people found innocent should be recompensated
- No tax should be legal unless accepted by the representatives of the people and sanctioned by the king
What did the 1rst estate (Nobility) want from the Cahier of 1789?
- No tax may be established without the consent of the nation
- A tax ought to be proportioned to the amount of wealth/property a person has (rich get taxed less)
