- 2. Increases osmolarity in the loop of Henle
- 3. Promotes prompt diuresis
- 4. Vasodilation
Furosemide (Lasix) Indications
- 1. Congestive Heart Failure
- 2. Pulmonary Edema
Furosemide (Lasix) Contraindications
- 1. Pregnancy
- 2. Dehydration
- 3. Hypovolemia
- 4. Hypokalemia
- 5. Patients taking Lithium (Lasix blocks the renal excretion of lithium) reciprocate

Protect medication from light

- 1. Nausea / vomitting
- 2. Hypokalemia
- 3. Dehydration
Furosemide (Lasix) Dosage

40-80mg (generally if the patient takes lasix, the higher dose is needed)
