Define distributed practice
involves practicing a skill with rest periods in between each practice
Define whole practice
involves learning a skill in its whole complete form, useful with simple skills
define part practice
involves breaking the whole skill down into smaller parts, learning the parts individually
define internal feedback
proprioceptors within the joints gives the athlete a feeling of movement (within the body)
define external feedback
involves receiving stimuli from external sources (coach or parents), maintaining or modify's motor plan.
define chunking
if a coach chunks bits of information together there will be less 'bits' of information to process, eg. 'get in take off position' instead of the explanation.
