  1. Pectoralis Major
    Origin: Body of sternum; medial clavicle; costal cartilages 2-6

    Insertion: Internal part of intertubercular groove of humerus

    Action: Prime mover of arm flexion; also adducts and medially rotates arm
  2. Pectoralis Minor
    • Origin: Ribs 3-5
    • Insertion: Coracoid process of scapula 
  3. Trapezius
    • Origin: Occipital bone; ligamentum nuchae; Spinous process of C7-T12 vertebra 
    • Insertion: Clavicle; acromion process and spine of scapula 
  4. Rectus Abdominis
    • Origin: Superior surface of pubis near symphysis 
    • Insertion: Xiphoid process of sternum; inferior surface of ribs 5-7
    • Action: Flexes vertebral column
  5. Deltiod
    • Origin: Acromial end of clavicle; acromion and spine of scapula 
    • Insertion: Deltoid tuberosity of humerous 
    • Action: Abducts the arm
  6. Supraspinatus
    • Origin: Supraspinous fossa of scapula 
    • Insertion: Greater tubercle of humerus 
  7. Infraspinatus
    • Origin: Infraspinous fossa of scapula 
    • Insertion: Greater tubercle of humerus 
  8. Teres Minor
    • Origin: Upper dorsal lateral border of scapula
    • Insertion: Greater tubercle of humerus
  9. Bicep Brachii
    • Origin: Long head- Supraglenoid tibercle of scapula; Short head- Coracoid process of scapula 
    • Insertion: Radial Tuberosity and bicipital aponeurosis
  10. Brachioradialis
    • Origin: Lateral supracondylar ridge of humerus 
    • Insertion: Styloid process of radius
  11. Psoas Major
    • Origin: Transverse process and bodies of T12-L15 vertebra 
    • Insertion: Lesser trochanter of femur with Iliacus
  12. Iliacus
    • Origin: Iliac fossa
    • Insertion: Lesser Trochanter of femur with psoas major
  13. Sartorius
    • Origin: Anterior superior iliac spine
    • Insertion: Tibial tuberosity; medial side
  14. Gracilis
    • Origin: Inferior ramus and body of pubis 
    • Insertion: Upper medial surface of tibia
  15. Adductor Longus
    • Origin: Pubis near pubic sympysis
    • Insertion: Linea aspera of Femur
  16. Tensor Fasciae Late
    • Origin: Iliac crest and lateral surface of anterior superior iliac spine 
    • Insertion: Iliotibial band/tract
  17. Gluteus Maximus
    • Origin: Iliac crest, sacrum, coccyx
    • Insertion: Gluteal tuberosity of Femur; Iliotibial tract of fasciae late; Linea aspera
    • Action: Extends the thigh (hip)
  18. Gluteus Medius
    • Origin: Posterior iliac crest; lateral surface between posterior and anterior gluteal lines
    • Insertion: Greater tronchanter of Femur
    • Action: Abducts the thigh (hip)
