    a pathologic change of the tissues due to a disease or injury

    describes the specialized mucous membranes that line the body cavities
  13. mucus
    the name of the fluid secreted by the mucous membranes
  14. palpation
    an examination technique in which the examiner's hands are used to feel the texture, size, consistency, and location of certain body parts

    ia a pounding or racing heart

    a male gland that lies under the urinary bladder and surrounds the urethra

    means to collapse and be lying flat or to be overcome with exhaustion
