Origin: external surfaces of the lateral parts of the 1st-8th ribs - Insertion: anterior surface of the medial border of the scapula
- Action: scapula protraction, holds scapula to thoracic wall, rotation of scapula

Origin: medial superior coracoid process - Insertion: 3rd-5th ribs hear the costal cartilage
- Action: draws scapula inferior and anterior
- Nerve: medial pectoral nerve

- Clavicular: anterior medial 1/2 of clavcle
- Sternal: anterior sternum and superior 6 costocartilages, aponeurosis of exeternal oblique
- Insertion: lateral lip of the intertubercular groove of humerus
- Action: adducts and medially rotates humerus. Flexes humerus.
- Nerve: medial and lateral pectoral nerves

Origin: poseterior tubercles of transverse processes of c1-c4 - Insertion: medial superior border of scapula
- Action: elevates scapula and rotates glenoid inferiorly
- Nerve: dorsal scapular nerve

- Action: retracts scapula, rotates scapula to depress glenoid, scapula fixator

Origin: spinous processes of inferior 6 T vertebrae, thoracolumbar fascia, illiac crest, inferior 3rd and 4th ribs - Insertion: Floor of intertubercular groove of humerus
- Action: extedns adducts and medially rotates humerus
- Nerve: thoracolumbar nerve

Origin: Medial 1/3 of superior nuchal line, external occipital protuberance, nuchal ligament, spinous processes of c7-T12 - Insertion: lateral 1/3 of scapula, acromion, and spine of scapula
- Action: scapula elevation, depression, and retraction
- Nerve: spinal accessory nerve
