  1. The smallest element of a pure substance:
    Atom
  2. Heterogeneous mixture:
    Composition of a substance is not uniformed; unequal/uneven
  3. Define matter:
    Anything that has mass and occupies space.
  4. Define mass
    The property that defines the amount of matter in an object.
  5. Define pure substance:
    Constant composition that does not change; cannot be further broken down.
  6. The smallest element of a compound:
    Molecule
  7. Energy
    The ability to do work or transfer heat.
  8. Physical process
    Transformation of matter (i.e. physical state); chemical makeup unchanged.
  9. Homogeneous mixture:
    Composition of substance is uniformed throughout.
  10. Name the 5 properties of matter:
    • 1. Intensive property
    • 2. Extensive property
    • 3. Chemical property
    • 4. Physical property
    • 5. Density
  11. Explain Extensive property:
    Matter changes with change in quantity.
