    toward head or upper part of a structure
  4. Inferior
    toward lower part of a structure

  6. Posterior
    toward the back
  7. Medial
    nearer the midline
  8. Lateral
    farther from the midline
  9. Proximal
    nearer to the attachment of a limb or origination of a structure
  10. Distal
    farther from the attachment of a limb or origination of a structure
  11. Superficial
    toward the surface
  12. Deep
    away from the surface
