What are nutritional requirements for iguanas?
Young: Feed daily. Vegetable material (swiss chard, alfalfa sprouts, beets, collard greens, mustard greens, turnip greens, broccoli, spinach, carrot tops, thawed frozen veggies) and calcium supplements.
Adult: fed 2 to 3 times a week, can be offered same as juvenile as well as plant material (dandelions, clover, rose petals, hibiscus, carnations and nasturium) fresh fruits
They can also be offered expanded guinea pig or rabbit food
Commercial diets are available. High protein diets can cause kidney failure and death.
