    Mechanism of Action
    • Peripheral smooth muscle relaxant
    • Lowers BP (systolic & diastolic)
    • Reduces afterload on heart, making it effective tx for non-valvular CHF

    • Known hypersensitivity to the med

    Precautions
    • Use caution in Pt with:
    • hypotension
    • taking lithium or diuretics

    • Anaphylaxis & angioedema have been reported
    • Can cause significant drop in BP - monitor closely

    • Diarrhea
    • Fatigue
    • Fever
    • Nausea
    • Rash

    12.5 - 25 mg sublingually if BP is between 90 - 110 mm.
