What is static electricity?
This is when certain insulators rub against each other and become electrically charged
What happens if objects have opposite electric charges?
They attract
What happens if objects have the same electric charges?
They repel
How is the size of the current calculated?
I = Q ➗ t
I = current in amperes A
Q = charge on Coulombs C
t = time in seconds
Where are ammeters always used?
Ammeters are always used in a series circuit
What is meant by potential difference and what is it always used in?
Potential difference is VOLTS and are used in parallel circuits
How is the potential difference calculated?
V = W ➗Q
V = potential difference V
W = Work done J
Q = charge in coulombs C
What is meant by resistance?
Resistance is a measurement of how hard it is to get current through
What factors affect the resistance?
Type if metal
Thickness of the wire
Length of the wire
How is the resistance calculated?
Resistance = Volts➗Current
What is the relationship between the current and potential difference with a resistor?
The current is directly proportional the potential difference, across a resistor
How is the potential difference and current in a Series circuit?
Total Potential difference = shared between each components
Current = same all the way through
How is the potential difference and current in a Parallel circuit?
Total Potential difference = the same all the way through
Current = the sum of the currents through the desperate components
How is the current through a component calculated?
I (amp) = Volts➗Resistance
What is the relationship between the resistance and the temperature of a filament bulb?
As the resistance increase the temperature increases
