- Sensory perception to face
- Motor perception to MMs of Mastication and Tensor tympani of mid ear
- Usually unilateral
- Women > Men
Causes of Trigeminal Neuralgia
- Local NN compression
- Conditions that cause demyelination (MS)
S&S of Trigeminal Neuralgia:
- Very sharp, severe pain
- Pt reports stabbing, electrical, burning sensations
