  2. Pharmacology and Action
    Acts as physiologic calcium channel blocker and block the, CNS depressant and anti-convulsant neuromuscular transmission. Depresses the function of smooth, skeletal, and cardiac muscles
  3. Indications
    • - Refractory ventricular fibrillation
    • - Pulse-less ventricular tachycardia
    • - Torsade de pointes
    • - Eclamptic seizure
    • - AMI
  4. Contraindications
    • - Hypocalcemia
    • - Hypertension
    • - Heartblock
    • - Myocardial Damage
    • - Shock
  5. Precautions and Side Effects
    • - ALOC
    • - Hypotension
    • - Heartblock
    • - Hypocalcemia
  6. Dosage (Adult)
    V-FIB / V-TACH (pulse-less) - 1-2 grams IV over 1-2 mins

    Torsades de pointes - 1-2 grams IV followed by 0.5-1.0 g/hour

    Esclamptic seizure- 2-4 grams IV/IM

    AMI - 1-2 grams over 5-30 mins
