Peptidoglycan

• 1. Conjugation: so called male cell passes DNA to the female cell by way of sex pills (not a sexual reproduction).
• 2. Transformation: occurs when a bacterium takes up a DNA released from its surroundings by a dead bacteria.
• 3. Transduction: viruses carry portions of bacterial DNA from one bacterium to another.

Endospores are thick walled structures that bacteria can produce so it can survive the harshest conditions.
