  1. What is a gene map?
    an arrangement of genes on a chromosome
  2. What is a tetrad?
    A four-part structure that forms during the prophase of meiosis and consists of two homologous chromosomes, each composed of two sister chromatids

    Process in which homologous chromosomes exchange portions of their chromatids during meiosis

    process by which the number of chromosomes per cell is cut in half through the separation of homologous chromosomes in a diploid cell

    breeding of individuals with similar desired traits to maintain those traits

    any agent (physical or environmental) that can induce a genetic mutation or can increase the rate of mutation

    dna produced by combining dna from different sources
  37. what is a restriction enzyme?
    enzyme that cuts DNA at a specific sequence of nucleotides.

    combined genetic information of all members of a particular species
  39. what is genetic drift?
    random changes of allele frequencies that occur in small populations

    the ability to survive in your environment (survival of the fittest)

    inherited characteristic that increases an organisms chance of survival
