  1. Beer's Law
    Absorbance= 2 - log%T
  2. Light source
    Provides light source of all wave lengths
  3. Monochomator
    Provide light of a single wave length
  4. Incident light
    the light that shines though the sample holder
  5. Transmitted light
    Light that pass though the sample holder and hits the photo detector
  6. Signal Processor
    Processes signal. Proper signal to read out device
  7. Types of read out devices
    • Mechanical 
    • Digital
    • Computer
    • Printer
  8. What does the read out device do?
    Provides a means for displaying value
  9. Amplifier
    Increase signal output to processor 
  10. Visible Light
    Between 400 - 800 nm
