Step 1: Engine Compartment BEFORE starting the engine

- Power Steering Fluid Level
- Alternator (Serpentine) Belt
- Leaks
- Hoses
- Battery - general condition - terminals
Step 2: Start Engine
- 1. Gauges are working and in normal range:
- Temperature
- Oil Pressure
- Ammeter/Voltmeter
- 2. Steering Play
- 3. Parking Brake - set brake and try to pull forward
- 4. Mirrors
- 5. Windshield
- 6. Lighting Indicators - Left, Right, Hazard
- 7. Horn - beep it
- 8. Heater
- 9. Defroster
- 10. Safety Belt(s)
- 11. Emergency Items:
- Fire Extinguisher
- First Aide Kit
- Triangle Reflectors
Step 3: Bus
- Front of Vehicle
- Lights
- Passenger Items
- Passenger Entry
- Emergency Exits
- Seating
- Drive/Entry Area
- Door(s)/Mirror
- Front Wheel
- Wheels
- Tires
- Lug Nuts
- Fuel Tank
- Tanks/Leaks/Filler
- Baggage Compartment
- Battery
- Rear Wheels
- Wheels
- Tires
- Lug Nuts
- Spacers
- Rear of Vehicle
- Lights/Reflectors

- Passenger Entry
- -Door works and is solid
- -Steps clear

- -Make sure exits function

- -Make sure all seats are solid

- Door is solid and opens
- Window rolls down
- Mirrors are set
Front Wheels
- Wheels - no welding or cracks
- Tires
- -Inflation
- -Condition
- -Depth of tread 4/32" or greater
- Lug Nuts - tight and no rust drips
Fuel Tank Area
- Check Filler
- Look for fuel tank leaks
Baggage Compartment

Battery Box
Rear Wheels
- Wheels
- -No cracks or illegal welding
- Tires
- -Inflation - thump duals and listen
- -Condition
- -Depth of tread - greater than 2/32"
- Lug Nuts
- -Tight and not rust drips
- Spacers
- -Nothing between the duals
Rear of Vehicle
- Lights
- Reflectors
