2 Peter 1

  1. Through what have they received a faith as precious as ours?
    The righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ. (1:1)
  2. What be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord?
    Grace and peace. (1:2)
  3. What has given us everything we need for life and godliness?
    His (God's) divine power. (1:3)
  4. What may you escape?
    The corruption in the world caused by evil desires. (1:4)
  5. What is caused by evil desires?
    The corruption of the world. (1:4)
  6. To what should you make every effort to add knowledge?
    Goodness. (1:5)
  7. What should you make every effort to add to self-control?
    Perseverance. (1:6)
  8. To what should you make every effort to add brotherly kindness?
    Godliness. (1:7)
  9. What if you possess these qualities in increasing measure?
    They will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. (1:8)
  10. What if anyone does not have these qualities?
    He is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins. (1:9)
  11. What should you be all the more eager to make sure?
    Your calling and election. (1:10)
  12. Into what will you receive a rich welcome if you do these things?
    The eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (1:11)
  13. In what are you firmly established?
    The truth you now have. (1:12)
  14. For how long does Peter think it is right to refresh your memory?
    As long as he lives in the tent of this body. (1:13)
  15. What has our Lord Jesus Christ made clear to Peter?
    That he will soon put it (the tent of this body) aside. (1:14)
  16. What will Peter make evey effort to do?
    See that after his deaprture you will always be able to remember these things. (1:15)
  17. What did we not follow whenw e told you about the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ?
    Cleverly invented stories. (1:16)
  18. When did our Lord Jesus Christ receive honor and glory from God the Father?
    When the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, saying, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased." (1:17)
  19. When did we ourselves hear this voice that came from heaven?
    When we were with our Lord Jesus Christ on the sacred mountain. (1:18)
  20. Until when will you do well to pay attention to the word of the prophets?
    Until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. (1:19)
  21. What came about by the prophet's own interpretation?
    No prophecy of Scripture. (1:20)
  22. How did men speak from God?
    As they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. (1:21)
