  1. Biological macromolecules
    loarge organic molecules that are synthesized from smaller organic components by living organisms.  Four main groups are Proteins, lipids, polysaccharides, and nucleic acids
  2. Cell
    a unit of living matter surrounded by a semi-permeable membrane and capable of reproduction in an environment devoid of other living things
  3. lumen
    the hollow space within a tubular organ.
  4. mucous membrane
    the lining layer of the tubular organs of the visceral body systems
  5. taxonomy for mankind
    • Chordata, Mammalia, Primates, Hominidae, Homo, Sapiens
    • "Chores mamma printed have home spotless"
  6. taxonomy... major categories within the animal kingdom
    • phylum, class, order, family, genue, and species
    • "Play classy or funny games saturday?"

    the functional part of an organ (vs. the structural portion called the stroma)

    includes animals that developmentally posses a dorsal hollow neural tube, a notochord, and pharyngeal pouches
