Smooth: Along the walls of hollow organs ( intestines, blood vessels, lungs ).  Contraction of smooth muscle changes organ diameter.

Skeletal: Attached to skeleton, moves the body around.

Cardiac: The heart, contraction pumps blood.

To convert energy to mechanical work.

Fibers.

Voluntary nervous system which controls voluntary movements of the body.  Part of peripheral ( outside central ) nervous system.

Long, slender extension of a nerve cell.  Conducts electrical impulses away from nerve body (soma).

Anterior horn cell -> anterior root axon -> individual nerve fibers innervate muscle cells.
