Religion Section Three Test

Virtue by which we believe in God and believe all that he has said and revealed to us, an that the Holy Church proposes for our belief

Virtue that enables us to determine which course of action is right and which is not

Directs ones impulses and desires towards whats good

THe critical interpretation and explanation of a biblical text

The commionon or unity that all baptized have with all other baptized; which encompasses heaven and earth

A non-jew who were despised by the Jews

• 1. Father who is in heaven meets His children with great love and speaks with them
• 2. The word of God stands as the support and energy of the Church
• 3. The strength of Faith
• 4. The food of the soul
• 5. The pure and everlasting  source of spiritual life.

Time/culture, literary genre and modes of thinking and feelings.

• The bible as a whole: There's unity to the passages and books of the Bible
• Sacred Tradition and teachings of the church
• God's overall plan of salvation

Meaning conveyed by the words of Scripture and discovered by exegesis, following the rules of sound interpreation

Realities and events about which it speaks can also be signs of a deeper reality

• Allegorical
• Moral
• Anagogical

Where the characters or events somehow "foreshadow" Christ or his actions

Where the passage indirectly helps us understand how we ought to act

Where the passage reveals something about or leads us to our true destiny
