Activated Charcoal is a specially prepared charcoal that will adsorb and bind toxins from the GI tract.

Acute ingested poisoning

• - Uncontrolled airway
• - Ingestion of cyanide, mineral acids, caustic alkalis, organic solvents, iron, ethanol, and methanol

• - Vomiting
• - Abdominal cramping
• - Abdominal bloating
• - Constipation

1 g/kg mixed with 6 to 8oz of water PO or NG tube
