Fureosemide

  2. Pharmacology and Actions
    Lasix is a rapid-acting, potent diuretic and antihypertensive that inhibits sodium reabsorption by the kidney. Its vasodilating effects reduce venous return and cardiac workload.

    Congestive Heart Failure and Pulmonary Edema
  4. Contraindications
    • - Hypersensitivity to sulfonamides
    • - Hepatic Coma
    • - Pregnancy (except in life threatening emergencies)
  5. Precautions and Side Effects
    • - Postural Hypotension
    • - Dizziness
    • - Hypovolemia
    • - Circulatory Collapse
  6. Dosage (Adult)
    40 to 120 mg slow IV
  7. Dosage (Pedi)
    1 mg/kg slow IV
