  1. Penetrating Keratoplasty = Corneal Transplant
    • Cornea is avascular and has one of the bodies highest densities of nerve endings.
    • No HLA or ABO blood-typing is necessary for a corneal transplant.

    • Not due to any eye disease, brain does not fully acknowledge the images seen by the amblyopic eye.
    • Reduced vision is NOT correctable by glasses or contact lenses
    • Can treat between the ages of 2 and 6
