  1. AB Design
used in single-case evaluation. A-baseline phase and B-intervention phase
  2. ABAB withdrawal/reversal design
used in single-case evaluation. if intervention was cause of improvement then in the second baseline phase target problem will be similar to original baseline. When intervention is reintroduced target problem should improve again
  3. baseline
phase in single-case evaluation. repeated measure of a target problem before new intervention or policy is introduced
  4. generalization of effects
occurs when intervention affects behaviors in addition to the target behavior
  5. multi-baseline design
a type of single-case veal.- attempts to control for variables by having multiple baseline and intervention phases
  6. operational definition
concrete and specific definition of something in terms of operations- can be observed and categorized
  7. reactivity
a process in which change in a dependent variable in induced by the research procedures
  8. replication
repeating study to reduce error. duplication of withdrawal or reintroduction of an intervention to hep increase internal validity
  9. self-reports scale
subjects all respond to the some list of written questions. specifically designed to measure a particular construct
  10. single-case evaluation
time-series design used to evaluate the impact of an intervention or policy change on individual cases
  11. triangulation
the use of more than one imperfect data-collection alternative in which each option is vulnerable to different potential sources of error
