Psalms 1-10

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; 2 but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. 3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.

Open my eyes that I may behold wondrous things out of your law.

Teach me, O Lord, the way of your statutes; and I will keep it to the end. 34 Give me understanding, that I may keep your law and observe it with my whole heart. 35 Lead me in the path of your commandments for I delight in it.

Incline my heart to your testimonies, and not to selfish gain! 37 Turn my eyes from looking at worthless things and give me life in your ways.

Teach me good judgement and knowledge, for I believe in your commandments.

God is our refuge & strength, a very present help in trouble

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; His understanding is beyond measure.
