    • Monozygotic
    • Dizygotic - 2 seperate sperm-ovum combos
  2. Dominant Trait
    the trait that is expressed
  3. Recessive Trait
    The trait that remains within the organism but is not expressed
  4. Genotype
    • underlying combination of genetic material that is present but, not outwardly visible
    • A person has 1 Curly Hair gene (C) and 1 Straight Hair Gene (S) so their genotype is SC
  5. Phenotype
    • The observable trait
    • A person with the genotype SC would display a wavy hair phenotype
  6. Homozygous
    receiving similar genes from both parents (CC)
  7. Heterozygous
    receiving different genes from both parents (SC)
