Altruism and Inclusive Fitness

Traits that maximize inclusive fitness

(because actors genes spread by both direct and indirect fitness)

• Altruisitc indiviudal ---> success for the group
• Selfish individuals----> failure for group

too many babies= weak young and parents die.  It has nothing to do with the good of the species.

aka Reproductive success (genes passed directly to the next generation)  coefficent of relatedness = 0.5
