The ureteropelvic junction (or UPJ) is the very top, or proximal, portion of the ureter.  It widens into a funnel shape as it enters the kidney.

A cystoscopy is an endoscopy of the urinary bladder via the urethra. is an endoscopy of the urinary bladder via the urethra.

A fluoroscopy is a study of moving body structures, similar to an x-ray movie.  A continuous x-ray beam is passed through the body part being examined and is transmitted on a monitor.

Hematuria refers to blood in the urine.

Intrarenal means within the kidney.

Prostatectomy is the surgical removal of all or part of the prostate gland.

A stent is a plastic or silicone tube placed within the ureter to facilitate flow.  It can also be used as a scaffold to guide healing.
