    • Signs:
    • 1) Cherry spot on the macula
    • 2) Irregular narrowing of arterioles

    • 1) Young men in their 20's
    • 2) Type A personality
    • 3) Distortion on the Amsler Grid
    • 4) Prolonged After image after entering a dark room
    • 5) No APD

    • Signs
    • 1) blister of fluid under the macula

    • Sx:
    • 1) have diabetes longstanding
    • 2) slow decrease painless in VA
    • 3) distortion on the amsler grid
    • 4) No APD

    • Signs:
    • 1) Retinal thickening
    • 2) Fluid under the macula
    • 3) exudates

  4. Macular Hole
    • Sx
    • 1) central vision decreased
    • 2) central spot absent on Amsler grid
    • 3) - APD
    • 4) gradual painless loss of vision

    • Signs
    • 1) punched out area on the macula, looks like a red pit

    • 1) Gradual painless loss of vision
    • 2) Elderly
    • 3) Hz of dry macular degeneration
    • 4) distortion on amsler grid
    • 5) central va may be effected

    • Signs
    • 1) blood in intraretinal areas or subretinal areas
    • 2) exudates
  6. PVD
    • Sx
    • 1)middle aged-elderly patient
    • 2) see a circle floating
    • 3) flashes
    • 4) 20/20

    • Signs
    • 1) vitreous pulled away from the retina
    • 2) Weiss's Ring

  7. Retinal Detachment
    • 1) flashes and floaters
    • 2) curtain coming down over vision
    • 3) + APD
    • 4) 20/20 unless macula is detached
    • 5) young to elderly

    • Signs:
    • 1) milky white hazy retina floating around in eye

  8. Retinitis Pigmentosa
    • 1) tunnel vision
    • 2) -APD
    • 3) no distortion Amsler Grid
    • 4) Hereditary
    • 5) side vision especially at dusk or night

    • Signs
    • 1) Retinal pigment changes bone spicules in the mid-peripheral retina
