    highly concentrated is typically found near the earths surface and has has great potential for use as a resource

    Matter is not highly concentrated is often located deep underground or dispersed in the ocean or atmosphere and usually has little potential lfor use as resource
  6. Element
    Fundamental substance that has a unique set of properties and cannot be broken down into simpler substances by chemical means

  8. Law of conservation of matter states
    whenever matter undergoes a physical or chemical change no atoms are created or destroyed

  9. How is energy defined
    Capacity to do work or transfer heat
  10. Potential energy
    stored energy ( chemical bonds in plants or gasoline, water behind a dam)
  11. Kinetic Energy
    Associated with motion - wind , flowing water, heat
