    The basic functional unit of the kidney; consists of a glomerulus and a series of tubules

    A condtion caused by problems with the nerves that control the bladder
  8. Pyelonephritis
    A kidney infection

    Related to, involving, or located in the region of the kidneys
  10. Ureterostomy
    An alternate way of eliminating urine from the body; a surgical procedure in which the ureters are brought throught the abdominal wall by way of small incisions and sutured in place
  11. Urethritis
    Infection of the urethra, the passageway that carries urine from the bladder to the outside of the body
  12. Urine
    Formed by the kidneys; consists of waste products that have been filtered from the bloodstream, along with excess fluid
  13. Urostomy
    An alternate way of eliminating urine from the body; a surgical procedure in which the ureters are attached to a small portion of the small intestine, one end is brought through the abdominal wall and sutured into place to create a stoma
