  8. Inability to coordinate movement

  10. Intestinal noises audible with or without a stethoscope, caused by gas moving through the intestinal tract
    Borborygmus
  11. Also known as an end-tidal co2 in the air that is breathed in and out by the patient, by sampling air passing between the endotracheal tube connector and the breathing circuit 
    Capnograph
  12. Medications, through their chemical effects, that serve to increase the clearing of intestinal contents
    Cathartics
  13. A blue discoloration of the mucous membranes or skin as a result of severe reduction of oxygen in the blood
    Cyanosis
  14. Any pattern of cardiace electric activity that differs from that of the healthy awake animal
    Cardiac Arrhythmia 
  15. Large-molecular-weight plasma proteins that provide oncotic pressure
    Colloids 
  16. In a sleep-like state. unresponsive to all stimuli including pain

  22. Large bruises. Discoloration of the skin or mucous membranes caused by leakage of blood into the tissues
    Ecchymoses
  23. crenated RBCs that have multiple speculated projections, commonly seen with snake envenomation or other toxins
    Echinocytes
  24. The accumulation of fluid in a space that is not normally fluid filled resulting from venous or lymphatic obstruction, increased vascular permeability, or decreased oncotic pressure
    Edema

  37. destention of teh intestines caused by inhibition of bowel motility; also referred to as gastrointestinal stasis 
    Ileus
  38. Administration of a drug or fluid into the bone 
    intraosseous 
  39. Provision of oxygen by placement of an oxygen supply tube inside an endotracheal tube, nasopharyngeal tube, or nostril
    insufflation
  40. the presence of excess ketone bodies in the urine in conditions such as diabetes mellitus, involving reduced or distrurbed carbohydrate metabolism
    Ketonuria 
  41. A relexive closure of the glottis in response to contract with any object or substance
    laryngospasm 
  42. depressed but able to be aroused with minimal difficulty 
    lethargic 
  43. instrument used to measure the pressure of liquids, such as blood
    Manometer 
  44. constriction of the pupil of the eye; opposite of mydriasis
    miosis
  45. dilation of the pupil of the eye, opposite of miosis 
    mydriasis
  46. a rythmic, involuntary oscillation of both eyes
    nystagmus 
  47. a monitoring device used to measure systolic, mean and diastolic blood pressure by detecting and analyzing pulsations of blood in the arteries of an extremity 
    oscillometer
  48. weakness of a body part caused by loss of nerve function. partial paralysis
    paresis
  49. small, visible pinpoint hemorrhage lesions less than 1mm in diameter
    petechiae
  50. a clot, consisting of fibrin, platelets, RBCs, and WBCs that forms within a blood vessel or in a chamber of the heart and can obstruct blood flow
    thrombosis
