oxygenation

  1. Signs of respiratory problems:
    cough, sputum, trouble breathing (dyspnea), hemoptysis, chest pain, wheezing, hypoxia, hypoventilation, hyperventilation, airway obstruction, cyanosis, rales/cracles, rhonchi
  2. Early signs of hypoxia
    restless, apprehensive, anxiety, dizzy, confusion, increased RR and HR
  3. late signs of hypoxia
    Stupor, coma, decreased RR, mottling, cyanosis
  4. Why is too much 02 bad?
    Too much can collaspe alveoli
  5. What is the max amount of 02 that can go through nasal cannula or oximizer
    1-6 liters per min
