  1. SYNTHETIC DRUG
    a drug that is created artificially and that has a specific mechanism of action that results in a specific pharmacologic act
  2. SYNTHESIZED DRUG
    a drug created in the labratory to mimic the pharmacologic actions of a naturally occuring drug
  3. SEMI-SYNTHETIC DRUG
    one that contains a combonation of artificially created molecules and natural molecules
  4. THERAPEUTIC WINDOW
    a range of serum concentrations which the drug is most effective with minimal toxicity
  5. THERAPEUTIC AGENT
    any drug that relieves symptoms of a disease, stops or delays disease, or maintain health
  6. PHARMACODYNAMIC AGENT
    any drug that alters the bodily functions
  7. DIAGNOSTIC AGENT
    any drug used in the diagnosis or identification of a disease
  8. PROPHYLACTIC AGENT
    any drug that prevents a disease or illness from occuring
  9. DESTRUCTIVE AGENT
    a drug that destroys or kills abnormal and sometimes normal cells
  10. ANTIGEN
    a molecule that stimulates an immune response
  11. HISTAMINE
    the chemical your body releases when you are having an allergic reaction
