SOP 7 SAMFS/CFS Mutual Aid Procedures

  1. Definition of a dual response area?
    Any defined area adjacent boundary that is mutually agreed and documented for mutual aid procedures.
  2. Who is the IC in a mutual aid area?
    FAO is the IC until a senior officer from the same service or an officer with legislative responsibility for the area arrives.
  3. Who can issue a stop message at a mutual aid incident?
    IC can issue stop message. If IC does not have legislative responsibility for area 1 appliance from the service that does will continue code green.
  4. When responding into CFS area what is the radio procedure? 5 points.
    • As first appliance reaches boundary notify comms of intention to change to CFS TG.
    • Change to nominated TG.
    • Stay on nominated TG for duration of incident.
    • Further resources to be requested via local CFS chain of command.
    • If contact cannot be made with CFS, SAMFS TG may be used.
