- Origin: Roots (C5-C7)
- Course: Runs on the lateral aspect of the thoracic wall
- Distribution: Serratus anterior muscle

Dorsal scapular
- Origin: Root C5
- Course: Descends on the medial border of the scapula
- Distribution: Rhomboids and levator scapula muscles

Suprascapular
- Origin: Superior trunk
- Course: Enters supraspinous fossa & passes to infraspinous fossa
- Distribution: Supraspinatous & infraspinatous muscles

Lateral pectoral
- Origin: Lateral cord
- Course: Pierces pectoralis minor muscles & enters pectoralis major muscle
- Distribution: Pectoralis major & minor muscles

Musculocutaneous
- Origin: Lateral cord
- Course: Penetrates coracobrachialis muscles & descends in anterior arm
- Distribution: Muscles of the anterior compartment of the arm, & the skin of the lateral aspect of the forearm

- Origin: Medial & lateral cords
- Course: Passes the anterior arm, cubital fossa, anterior forearm, & through the carpal tunnel to enter hand
- Distribution: Most of the muscles of the anterior compartment of the forearm, thenar muscles, & the first & second lumbricals
- The skin of the lateral 2/3 of the palm of the head & most of the lateral 3 1/2 fingers

Medial pectoral
- Origin: Medial cord
- Course: Pierces pectorlis minor muscles & enters pectoralis major muscle
- Distribution: Pectoralis major & minor muscles

Medial cutaneous nerve of arm
- Origin: Medial cord
- Course: Runs along medial side of forearm
- Distribution: Most of the skin of medial side of arm

Medial cutaneous nerve of forearm
- Origin: Medial cord
- Course: Descends on medial side of forearm
- Distribution: Skin of medial side of forearm

Ulnar
- Origin: Medial cord
- Course: Travels on medial side of arm, passes behind the medial epicondyle, descends on medial side of forearm, passes in front of carpal tunnel & enters hand
- Distribution: Some of the muscles in anterior forearm, hypothenar & interosseous muscles, muscles, 3rd & 4th lumbricals
- The skin of the medial 1/3 of the palmar & dorsal aspects of the hand, medial 1 1/2 fingers

Upper subcapular
- Origin: Posterior cord
- Course: Run on the posterior wall of axilla
- Distribution: Subcapularis muscle

Lower subscapular
- Origin: Posterior cord
- Course: Runs on the posterior wall of axilla
- Distribution: Subscapularis & teres major muscles

Thoracodorsal
- Origin: Posterior cord
- Course: Winds around the surgical neck of the humerus
- Distribution: Latissimus dorsi muscle

Axillary
- Origin: Posterior cord
- Course: Winds around the surgical neck of the humerus
- Distribution: Detoid & teres minor muscles.
- Lower part of the skin covering the deltoid muscle

Radial
- Origin: Posterior cord
- Course: Travels through the radial groove, enters the cubital fosse, divides into a deep (motor) & a superficial (cutaneous) branch
- Distribution: Muscles of the posterior compartments of arm & forearm
- Skin of posterior arm & forearm, plus lateral 2/3 of the posterior aspect of the hand.
