  2. What hormone controls the release of thyroxine and tri-iodothyronine?
    Thryroid stimulating hormone (TSH)
  3. What hormone controls the release of thyroid stimulating hormone?
    Thryotropin-releasing hormone (TRH) produced by the hypothalamus.
  4. Explain the production of T3 and T4.
    TSH stimulates epithelial cells to produce thyroglobulin. Thyroglobulin trapes and oxidizes ingested iodides. Then the thyroglobulin producing epithelial cells combine with the amino acid tyrosine to form inactive iodotyrosines.
