  1. Administrative agencies 
    Any government body created by legislative branch to carry out specific duties 
  2. Administrative procedures act
    Federal legislation that places limitations on how agencies are run and contains very specific guidelines on rule making by agencies.
  3. Federal Register 
    A government publication that provides public notice of new regulations from the Office of Thrift Supervision, legal notices, presidential proclamations, executive orders, documents required by an Act of Congress, and other official documents of public interest. The Federal Register is published daily, Monday through Friday.
  4. Administrative law 
    the body of rules and principles that governs the duties and operations of federal or state administrative agencies, as commissions and boards.
  5. Enabling legislation 
    legislation that gives appropriate officials the authority to implement or enforce the law
  6. Independent agencies 
    An agency that is typically not located within a government department.
  7. Executive agencies
    An agency that is typically located within the executive branch, under one of the cabinet-level departments.
