    • 4. On hour interval radiographs ( IF NEEDED )
    • 5. Spot illeocecal valve.
  22. What patient prep is needed?
    • 1. NPO for 8 Hours
    • 2. No gun chewing
    • 3. No smoking
    • 4. Ask for pregnancy
  23. What position is done for this procedure?
    PA.
  24. Where do you center for the first PA radiograph? Second?
    2 inches above crest because theres nothing down in the lower yet.

    Second will be at the crest.
  25. What patient preperation is needed for barium enema?
    • 1. Light evening meal
    • 2. Bowel cleansing cathartics
    • 3. NpO after midnight ( 8 ho8rs )
    • 4. NO gum chewing
    • 5. No smoking.
  26. Whats the difference between diverticula and polyp?
    • Divertucula - Outward

    Something that promotes defecation.
  28. What are some contraidications to cathartics?
    • 1. Gross bleeding
