When multiplying indices what do you do to the index?
- Add them
- eg
- 4⁷+ 4³= 4⁷⁺³= 4¹⁰
When diving indices what do you do to the index?
- Subtract them
- eg
- 6⁹/ 6⁴ = 6^9-4 = 6⁵
When raising one power to another what do you do to the index?
- Multiply the indices
- eg
- (7²)⁴ = 7²^x4 = 7⁸
What is the answer to any question if the power zero is raised?
- 1
- eg
- 5⁰ = 1
What is the answer to any question if the power 1 is raised?
- It is itself
- eg
- 15¹ = 1
Do you multiply the numbers when using Indices and algebra?
- Yes
- eg
- 4x² X 3x⁵ = 12x⁷
