    • LEAP in the air
  3. Characteristics of Order- Anura:
    • Moist scaleless skin
    • 4 legs with no claws on toes
    • External fertilization= AMPLEXUS
    • Eggs surrounded by gelatinous membrane
    • Eggs usually laid in water in clusters, strings, or singly
    • Larva= Tadpole (with tail and covered gills)
    • Tadpole can last just a few days or several years
    • Adult= lungs, no tail, 4 legs, back legs for jumping or hopping

    • Warty skin with parotid glands
    • Eggs in string
    • Hop

    • Size: 0.75- 1.25 inches
    • Song: Short Trill- Mellow to Harsh (May- June)
