Rapid acting anticoagulant prepared by bovine lung tissue or porcine intestinal mucosa
Mechanism of Action
Rapid onset anticoagulant that enhances effects of anti-thrombin III. Blocks conversion of Prothrombin to Thrombin & Fibrinogen to Fibrin

Unstable angina
Non Q wave MI
Used to prevent PE and DVT's
Contraindications
Known hypersensitivity
Allergy to Beef or Pork
Precautions
Don't use on pts with active major bleeding
Thrombocytopenia
Caution with chronic alcoholism
3rd trimester pregnancy
