    • Production- When rules / resources are used to create a new structure ; change
    • Reproduction- Use of rules and resources to reinforce structures already there

    • Mechanistic Approach- Company as a machine; emphasis on productivity, precision, efficiency; smooth running
    • Living Systems Appoach- Living organism that needs to constantly adapt to a changing enviorment to stay alive; free flowing adaptive communication
    • Cultural Approach- culture is not something an organization has but something it is
    • Critical Approach- Manager controls meaningful converstation; very few have say in decisions

    • Information model- communication is a channel for the transmission of information about the real world
    • Communication model- Language is the principal medium in which soical reality is created and sustained

    collaborative desicion making; participatory democracy in the workplace

    employees actively, though perhaps unknowing, accomplish managerial interests in a faulty attempt to fullfill their own

    • without employees awareness
    • restricts what can be openly expressed or even thought
    • discursive closure- suppresion of potential conflict
  18. What is the difference between involvement and participation
    • Involvement- free expression of ideas but may not necessarily affect managerial decisions
    • Participation- Stakeholders democracy, all negociate power and openly reach collaborative decisions
