    To let electric current flow in one direction only

    It is a diode that gives out light when a current flows through it

  4. What is a Light Dependent Resistor (LDR)?
    It is a resistor that responds to light in an electric circuit
  5. State a use of an LDR
    It is used to turn on lights when it gets dark
