    • * NOT for pts w/ bleeding disorders
    • * Ceiling effects (increase of dose is ineffective)
    • * DO NOT HAVE physical dependence or tolerance
    • * Prescription NOT required
  2. Ibuprfen: description (1) + side effect (4)
    (3) Drugs
    • (Motrin, Advil, Nupren)
    • - Response VARIES (if one is not effective try another)
    • - S.E= bleeding tendencies, dyspepsia, ulceration, hemorrhage
  3. Toradol (2)
    • - PRECAUTION limit to 5 days
    • -Can cause renal insufficiency in dehydrated pts
  4. Cox 2 inhibitors (2)
    • -Similar to NSAIDs
    • - Less GI effects still a risk
  5. Non-Aspirin Pain Reliever (3) Classif.
    Acetomenophen (1) drug
    • Tylenol
    • - MAXIMUM dose is 4GRAMS
    • - Over 4000mg can cause ACUTE OVER DOSE
    • - pt w/ alcoholic or liver disease are at rick for hepatotoxicity
  6. Salicytates (1)
    (1) drug
    • Asprin
    • - possibility of UPPER GI BLEEDING
  7. Trilisate (1)
    DOES NOT INCREASE BLEEDING TIME
