an imaginary line extending from the center of the antecubital fossa to the center of the base of the second digit

the artery is located just lateral to the tendon of the flexor carpi radialis muscle and medial to the tendon of the brachioradialis muscle

the parallel incision is made just lateral to the tendon of the flexor carpi radialis muscle, a few inches above the wrist there the pulse is commonly taken
