A reactor startup is in progress. During the startup, three rods had failed reed switches at their withdraw limits:
26-31 position 3650-15 position 2418-15 position 12
Rod position was verified per OP-7 and a substitute position was inserted. While continuing the startup with the three substituted rod positions, a reactor scram occurs. After the scram, the following information is indicated: Process computer indication All rods at position FF RWM SHUTDOWN SCREEN ALL RODS IN: YES SHUTDOWN: YES RODS NOT FULL IN: 000
Determine if the response from the RWM indication of ALL RODS IN is accurate and why:
A. Yes. The process computer printout showing FF's is given only when a rod is inserted past 00.
B. No. The substituted rod positions caused the RWM to automatically bypass the affected rods in evaluating the shutdown confirmation.
C. Yes. RWM automatically deleted the substituted positions when good reed switch data was detected when the scram occurred.
D. No. Substitute rod positions remove the input from RPIS. ERFIS and the Process Computer positions can not be determined
C. Yes. RWM automatically deleted the substituted positions when good reed switch data was detected when the scram occurred.
